St Mary's Garden Project Annual Flower & Produce Festival on Wednesday 25 July 2006, 11am - 2.30pm:

www.thrive.org.uk is a national charity which uses gardening and horticulture to promote physical and mental well-being. It's Hackney project, St Mary's Garden, is a tranquil green space in Shoreditch used by a wide cross-section of the local community (and a lot of wildlife!).

Once a year, Thrive's users get together with other similar projects to display flowers and produce that they've grown in a celebration of their work. More than just a flower show, this is a day for everyone - music, food, massage... Entrance is free, so come along and sample a wheel-barrow full of good music and summer horticulturalnessness.

The gardeners of St. Mary's would like to invite you to our festival to celebrate their work at St Mary's where there will be:

  • Barbecue
  • Food & cakes
  • Henna painting
  • Children's face painting & activities
  • Massage & other complementary therapies provided by The Healing Tent
  • A Herbalist for advice
  • Friendly farm animals from Hackney City Farm
  • Plants & organically grown produce for sale
  • Raffles & tombola etc
  • and of course music from binglybongly!

Please join us for a good time

- admission free. From 11.00am till 2.30pm

On the 23rd July 2004 we added a musical dimension to the Thrive Flower Show. It was a wonderful day, and we had some great comments, including this:

"In the middle of a lovely summer's day, binglybongly music reached out and gathered people together around them, moving, dancing and relaxing. It was a revelation to see how such wellchosen music can communicate to people and its holistic and therapeutic effect - so much more so than I had previously realised."
Fiona Ross (from
Shoreditch Business Network)

Thanks to everyone at St Mary's Garden.
